The Basics of Metal Clay Workshop

No workshops are scheduled at the present, please email if you are interested in any class.

Precious Metal Clay is an amazing product that allows you to create your own fine silver jewellery without the need for lots of specialised silversmithing tools. Metal Clay has the working consistency of clay, allowing you to roll it, mold it, or texture it in the clay form. When the clay is completely dried it is fired to at least 600 degrees celcius, the organic binders burn off and the silver particles sinter together the result is a piece of fine silver jewellery.

By joining this one day workshops you will learn all the basic techniques required to work with Metal Clay. Working with lump clay you will make your own unique piece of fine silver jewellery, typically a pendant, earrings or a simple linked bracelet.

Workshop fee includes use of studio tools and kiln firing of pieces completed in class, reference material and lots of tips and techniques.
